Cardiopulmonary Effects of Positive End-Expiratory Pressure in Dogs

Abstract
|
|
|
Change of cardiovascular hemodynamic change in 10cm920 PEEP on control anesthetized dogs.
Hemodynamic variable change were measured by Swan-Ganz catheter through external jugular vein.
The following results were obtained
1) normal dogs of applying 10cmH20 PEEP have significant decreased effect in cardiac output and mean arterial pressure.
2) central venous pressure, pulmonary arterial pressure and pulmonary capillary wedge pressure were significant increased in 10cmH20 PEEP on control.
3) The heart rate showed no changes by 10cmH20 PEEP in normal dogs.
